You may not know the real significance of the filters in your furnace. However, what you really do need to know is when to replace them. These seemingly tiny and insignificant objects pack a real punch that measures well above their weight. This is due to the impact that they can have on the functioning of your HVAC system. Filters help to keep your furnace functioning at an efficient and healthy. Replacing them on a regular basis is the best way to ensure that this remains the case.

How Often Do Filters Need to Be Changed?

The exact length of time that a furnace filter may last will depend on a number of factors. These can include the type of filter that your model employs as well as the frequency with which you use your furnace. However, in general, most industry experts recommend that you change your furnace filters every 90 days.

How Can You Change Your Furnace Filter?

Changing the filter in your furnace is a relatively easy task. You will first need to locate the filter. It can usually be found behind the return-air vent. On occasion, it will be located behind a slot on the furnace. Once you find the filter, remove it. You can then insert the new one. Make sure that it matches with the correct size and rating.

If you don’t have the time, energy, or ability to perform this task, you can call on a local service to handle it. Air Creation Heating & Cooling, LLC will be happy to perform this task on your behalf.
