How Can Buying a New HVAC Save You Money?

Depending on the size of your home, a brand-new HVAC system could cost you anywhere from $5,000 to $10,000. While that is certainly a lot of money for the average homeowner. that kind of investment can actually save you money in the long run. Yes, a price tag of thousands of dollars can give you sticker shock, but you’ll have a new HVAC system that runs more efficiently and will require fewer repairs than your older system. Here are just a few reasons why you should consider upgrading your HVAC system to something newer and more reliable.

A More Efficient System

The best reason to upgrade to a new HVAC system is to have something more efficient. Heating and cooling a home takes a lot of energy, and its easy to push an older air conditioner or furnace to its limit. When this happens, you have to contend with higher utility bills, more frequent repairs, and a system that might not be able to keep up with the temperature outside as well as it once did. A newer system won’t have the same wear and tear than your older system might have.

Newer HVAC systems are also expected to have a higher seasonal energy efficient ratio or SEER than those that were built even 10 years ago. Modern systems require a SEER of at least 14, while older systems might have a SEER of six or lower. The higher the SEER, the more efficient a system is.

Fewer Repairs

A new system that hasn’t experienced years of wear and tear will be far less likely to break down. You’ll still need to keep up on your regular maintenance when you have a new system, but you’ll be far less likely to have to call an HVAC repair technician on the hottest day of the year to fix your AC. HVAC repair bills can quickly add up to the cost of a new furnace or air conditioner, so you’re better off spending that money on something that will last another decade without significant repairs.

Tax Credits

In addition to the dramatic decrease you’ll likely see in your utility bills, you might qualify for certain tax credits when you upgrade to a more efficient HVAC system. There is no guarantee that you can qualify, but stay on the lookout for any incentives that your municipality might be offering.

A new HVAC system might seem expensive at first, but it is almost always worth it in the long run. When you are ready to upgrade to a new system for your home, contact Air Creation Heating & Cooling. Financing is available for those who qualify.
